Local to Global: Reflections on Volunteering in 2020
ACIC is excited to showcase the impacts that Atlantic Canadians are making through their volunteer work for International Volunteer Day. We recruited a team of passionate volunteers who used photojournalism to tell their story of volunteering locally and the effect it has globally. We wanted to capture how volunteering looks different in 2020 and showcase the creativity and ingenuity of organizations and volunteers as they work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
With the support of ACIC staff, photos have been collected, curated and displayed in this e-gallery, which was launched in our event on December 4th, 2020. The online photo exhibit and event demonstrates the variety of ways that Atlantic Canadians, young and older, volunteer to make their community better, especially within the pandemic context. This collection showcases the ways in which people can volunteer both at home and abroad, and to makes connections between the two!
