As a Moncton area community leader with an interest in peace, you are invited to join a "Greater Moncton Peace Focus Group" for the purpose of exploring how we might lead and engage our community in co-creating a greater sense of peace and harmony.

Why You? Why Us?

This Peace Focus Group will be of interest if you:

  • Want to make a difference in enhancing the quality of life and connection in your community

  • Desire to be part of a collaborative leadership team that holds the vision for what is possible

  • Believe in grass-roots approaches that invite and engage leaders and community members to take personal responsibility for creating solutions according to their passions for change

  • See yourself as a peace leader, builder or educator or have circles of influence that could contribute to this initiative

For this second facilitated meeting, our plan (as time permits) is to:

  • Connect. Get to know each other and share our personal peace passions for this Moncton initiative

  • Envision the outcomes and impacts that we would want to create together

  • Define a shared purpose for this group

  • Determine how we will lead this initiative - Our shared values, behaviors and agreements

  • Consider the community stakeholders we wish to engage and collaborate with

  • Determine Next Steps

As an outcome for this meeting, we will deepen our clarity about who we are and where we are going with this initiative and get a sense of how each of us can contribute through our knowledge, talents, connections and resources. You will come away with an experience of having made some deeper connections with like-minded, like-hearted people.

The format of the meeting will be facilitated, interactive discussions and reflection in small groups and in the larger group. We expect anywhere from 18 to 35 community leaders like yourself to be involved.

To prepare for the meeting you are invited to reflect on what you would like to achieve through this group. If we were to make a significant difference for peace in Greater Moncton, what would that look like? Sound like? Feel like? What is your vision of the outcomes that we might achieve? Who would be involved or impacted by the experience?

  • Dress is casual. Bring a notebook and pen.

  • Tea and coffee will be provided. Feel free to bring your own snacks if required.

Invite others: If you know of other community leaders that would be interested in this initiative, please feel free to forward this invitation to them. Space is limited. Register as soon as possible.
